These small yellow flowers grow wild on the sand dunes at the beach at Cocoa Beach, Florida, adding a dash of yellow color to the blue sky and white sand. And I suppose the green leaves count as color, too. We saw these flowers at Lori Wilson Park, where we usually go when we are at Cocoa Beach.
If I were a flower, I wouldn’t be able to think of anywhere I would rather grow than at the beach. Always there enjoying the sun and the warm weather, being right by the water all of the time. Except that once you put down roots, you will never make it out to the water. So maybe being a flower on the beach isn’t the best thing after all. Or just being a flower in general isn’t the best thing, for that matter. I suppose I am too accustomed to my mobility to be able to put down roots in just one spot.
Poor flowers. I never knew you had it so hard.
