Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Dream

Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Dream

A portrait of Walt Disney at the entrance to the Walt Disney Theatre on board the Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream.

Of course, because the Disney Dream is a Disney Cruise Line ship, you would expect there to be tributes to Walt Disney found somewhere on the ship. Because that is how Disney does things, after all. On the Disney Dream, as with the other Disney Cruise Line ships, the main theatre is named after Walt Disney. This theatre is home to the ship’s stage shows, and they can also show movies in the theatre as well.

On our Disney cruise, we saw two shows in the Walt Disney Theatre: The Golden Mickeys, and Villains Tonight. Both were enjoyable, even if live stage shows aren’t exactly my thing. But we did skip seeing Iron Man 3, mainly because we had already seen it. But we also skipped it because we can watch movies any time, while we can’t do other cruise ship activities every day. And we also skipped the last night’s show, too.

The Walt Disney Theatre lobby is quite an elegant space, and it is often used for character photo opportunities and other gatherings, too.

Now if I could just figure out the difference between a theatre and a theater.
