Observations of the Past Week (3/4/13)

Here they are once again - the Observations of the Past Week from Twitter and Facebook. If they don’t live up to your expectations, please don’t complain to the management.

Monday after a really good weekend isn’t actually any easier than Monday after a so-so weekend. (Not that I am asking for a so-so weekend anytime soon.)

I didn’t watch the Oscars last night, so don’t tell me who won. Just in case I decide to care. (Follow-up note: I still don’t care.)

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. - 2 Corinthians 9:6 (Good words from the Good Book.)

The wind and rain are doing nothing for my hair. (Not that anything ever does anything for my hair.)

Either the office next door is getting new carpet or the rats are really making a mess in there. (Big scraping rats at that.)

The office next door is getting new carpet, so we get that new carpet smell every time we walk by their door. I’m losing brain cells. (Not that I had any to spare.)

Complimentary wi-if at Jaylin’s orthodontist. I would say “free,” but nothing is free here. (They probably even charge for the air we breathe.)

“I have an immediate opening for the position of Someone Who Cares.” (Some things sound better when you put them in quotation marks.)

Great, they are mentioning a small chance of snow for tomorrow and I already have to go to the grocery store tonight. (Nothing like shopping with all the paranoid crazy people.)

Chicken houses have a fowl odor. (Ha.)

From the office next door, the new carpet smell has given way to the fresh paint smell. Goodbye, brain cells. (Hello, mindless drool.)

On cold days like today I want to just hold my toasted sandwich and enjoy its warmth. But I eat it anyway. (Hunger takes priority over cold, evidently.)

It is a good day to stay inside and watch the snow outside through the window. Even if the snow isn’t amounting to anything. (Much better than having to be out in the snow.)

What is that big bright thing up in the sky? It is so strange. (And what is this “sunny” that everyone keeps talking about?)
