Fog on the Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney World

Jungle Cruise in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

The fog rolls in near the loading dock for the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, as a Jungle Cruise skipper waits for her next crew of adventurers.

While the fog appeared to be some freak weather pattern, I later in the day figured out that it was coming from one of the stops of the interactive game “A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas.” Some of the treasure released a good bit of fog when it was found, and that fog came rolling across the Jungle Cruise river, as you can see here. Whatever the reason was, the fog added an interesting element to the photo.

The Pirate’s Adventure game was actually fun, if not all that involved. You were given a map and told where to start. Once there, you waved your ticket or Magic Band over the symbol that you were looking for, and then the voice of Captain Jack Sparrow told you where to go to look for your next symbol. So basically, it was sort of a high-tech scavenger hunt that leads you all around Adventureland. Something interesting to do if you are trying to pass the time waiting for a Fastpass return time, or if you want to do something that doesn’t involve standing in line for 40 minutes or more, or if you want to do something besides just sit while you enjoy your Dole Whip. And while some people will complain that it isn’t an exciting ride or show, I like how it is something simple to do that the whole family can do together.

Because after all, not everything has to be a thrill-a-minute high-speed experience for you to have a good time.
