Daily Photo: Spaceship Earth at Epcot

Spaceship Earth is the instantly-recognizable symbol of Epcot at Walt Disney World in Florida. Although most people call it a big golf ball. Which it does look like, in a way.

I was surprised on our first visit there (way back in 1983) to learn that the Spaceship Earth ride really takes place inside the sphere, which makes it even more cool.

This particular view makes Spaceship Earth look a little smaller than it actually is. But I like how the sphere contrasts with the cylinder to the right, which is part of the post-show building housing what is known as Project Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future.
