Daily Photo: My Grandfather's Train

This Lionel engine, tender, and caboose belonged to my grandfather. You can’t really see the caboose in the picture, by the way, but it is back there. I had been told that he bought this train after he returned home from World War II. When I looked it up on the internet, I found that these were made in 1946 and 1947, so that would be right. My dad was born around that time, but he said that my grandfather probably bought the train for himself as much as for anyone else, because he loved toys. Must be where I get it from.

My grandfather passed away 19 years ago yesterday. But I am still reminded of him every time I see this train.
