At Cinderella Castle

Laura and Jaylin stand at the entrance to Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World in Florida. And they help to show the size of everything, in case you were wondering how big the castle really is.

One of the fun things about getting there early in the morning is the lack of crowds. And another fun thing is getting to walk all the way through Cinderella Castle, which is often not possible due to the walkways being closed because of the shows on the castle stage. So we took the opportunity when we saw it, before making our way over to Big Thunder Mountain.

One of the hardest things about a vacation, especially a good vacation, is returning back home.

We had a great time on our trip. It was loads of fun each and every day, and even just about every minute of every day. Whether we were at a Disney park, or visiting a Disney hotel, or looking through a souvenir shop, or swimming in the pool, or just sitting on the couch in our condo watching television, it was all fun. Something different all the time, especially different from what we have at home.

And then, we came back home. Sure, home is great. There’s no place like it. It’s where we live, it’s where all our stuff is. It’s home.

But after a fun week like we had, home seems rather, um, ordinary.

We don’t hear fireworks outside after it gets dark. We can’t hop in the car for a short drive to Downtown Disney to look around in the shops. We can’t go out to the pool and hope they aren’t having another karaoke contest.

There’s really nothing at all wrong with normal and ordinary. But after a fun week of vacation, it takes some getting used to again.
